Pacsafe Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Convertible Backpack Review

Just a few days ago I placed an order for two Pacsafe travel products I plan on taking with me on my upcoming trip to Bali, Indonesia for ten days. The first of the two products - the Pacsafe Travelsafe 5L GII Portable Safe Review can be found here if you'd like to know more about this product.

For the last two years or so I've been using a small Denali Day Pack to carry my wallet, phone and other personal items when traveling however I've found the bag to be a little small for my purposes and wanted to upgrade to a product providing a few security features including RFID skimming protection.

I saw the Pacsafe Citysafe range was pleasantly surprised when I came across a product that not only delivered on security, but was also convertible - from a daypack into a crossbody bag.

Denali-Nano-7-Day-Pack My trusty Denali Day Pack - Farewell my faithful travel companion.

Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Convertible Backpack

The Citysafe™ CX Convertible Backpack is a versatile day pack which is innovative in design. It can be used as a traditional style backpack configuration or it can convert to a crossbody bag with the added benefit of discreet security detailing. There is a Laptop compartment to accommodate up to Macbook 11" or similar, making it sufficient for my needs. I've opted for the black one.

The convertible backpack has a number of inbuilt security features including RFID blocking pockets and material, secured zip tabs to deter pickpockets and a 'Roobar' style locking system along with a number of other features.

Let's take a look at these features in greater detail.

Interlocking Zip Tabs

It took a bit of working out which, in truth is a good thing from the perspective of pickpockets accessing the bag on the fly, but once you get the hang of it these zip tabs are easily secured.

Supplementing these security measures is an ability to feed the zippers through the 'roobar' buckle system to provide further protection.

Secure Zip Tab Loops

Another built in feature of the Citysafe CX Anti-Theft Convertible Backpack are these little belt loops which once the zip tabs are fed through, secure the zipper from being easily opened.

TurnNLock Security Hooks

A snatch and grab scenario is almost totally negated with the addition of the TurnNLock security hooks of which there a two on the backpack. In order to release the spring loaded hook to open it, the user is required to manipulate lock by using a twisting motion to open the small built in lock mechanism.

Its worth noting too that the carry straps feature 'slashguard' technology.
